Armor Bearer In Modern Days: What is It? p1

Saul liked him very much and David became one of his armorbearers. --1 Samuel 16:22b

In biblical days, an armorbearer was one who actually carried the shield and armor of his leader as he went into battle, often acting as his personal assistant. For example, King Saul had several armorbearers assigned to him.1 In our modern-day, I see no one walking around fully suited in the classical armor of the early centuries.

Nevertheless, in the spiritual realm, we continue to need our armor. The Ephesians' writer commands us to put on the full armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil's schemes.2 Just as much as our early century counterparts, we in the ministry of service are to suit up in the Armor of the Spirit and carry the armor of God's leaders in the battle of faith.

Armor Bearer In Modern Days: What is It? p1

The term armorbearer was originally translated from the Hebrew word, nasa, meaning to figuratively or literally lift up, support or simply help.3 On occasion, Bible translators have translated the word, "help", from the Hebrew word, nasa. In light of these defining terms, we can see an armorbearer is one that helps or supports the arms of an assigned leader during the times of battle.

A modern day armorbearer is one called by God to serve and help his assigned leader in life, ministry, and especially in the fight of faith.4 In essence, an armorbearer is called to attend to, minister to, care for, help, be of use, assist, benefit, promote, support, make easy for, nourish, and encourage their leader.

Furthermore, God calls others to walk in the spirit of armorbearing. They may not be assigned specifically to one leader, but they possess the mindset and attitude of an armorbearer. The attitude of an armorbearer is one of servanthood. The mindset of an armorbearer, as well as those operating in the spirit of one, is to do what it takes to serve and support their leadership.5 Operating in the spirit of armorbearing can also be described as operating in the principles or pervading qualities of an armorbearer. The qualities that top the list are servanthood, commitment, attentiveness, support, help, loyalty, and faithfulness.

Armorbearing in the attitude of service is not just the performing of humble tasks, but is an effort to serve Christ in the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, "The servant of all is the greatest of all." Among my favorite examples, are the great men in Old Testament scripture, many who were faithful armorbearers before their public ministry. King David, King David's mighty men, Elisha and Joshua exemplified the armorbearing spirit in excellence. Even Elisha's assistant, Gehazi, offers us an example of what we do not want to do as an armorbearer.6

One need not think our Father God only called armorbearers or helpers to assist in the ancient battles. Look at New Testament Joseph of Cyprus, nicknamed "Barnabas," or "Son of Encouragement." The most popular view is that Joseph of Cyprus gained these names because he constantly encouraged those to whom he and Paul ministered. Recently, I have considered another thought as to why he was called "Son of Encouragement." Perhaps it was because he persevered by Paul's side through shipwrecks, stoning and much rejection.

Do not overlook Stephen and Phillip among the seven appointed to wait tables for the early church apostles' feeding program. The leaders assigned them to help while their apostles gave greater focus to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Throughout the Bible and today, God is still calling helpers and armorbearers to lift up the arms of our Church leadership.

Operating in the spirit of armorbearing is fulfilling a ministry of help, watchfulness, and intercession on behalf of our leadership. I believe God has issued a fresh call to serve and support our leaders in this way. Only He knows the spiritual effort and sheer hard work it will take to accomplish the vision of His Church.

The Apostle Paul encouraged us to excel in the gifts that build up the Church. As we in the ministry of helps excel in the gift of service and supporting our leaders, we will come into the unity of faith like never before. When we each take our place and share the load our men and women in leadership will suffer less weariness and burnout, giving opportunity for a greater refreshing from the Lord.

Authentic True Religion Jeans! How To Know The Difference Between The Real Deal And Fakes!

UHello everyone! Are you a big fan of designer denim? Have you always wanted a pair of True Religion jeans, but don't live near a store that sells them? Well there is always the option of buying them online, which is very convenient for just about everybody! The only problem that arises with buying online is- "Are they authentic? How do you tell? How do you know you are not getting ripped off?" Well in this article, I will discuss a few ways that YOU yourself can learn to spot the REAL DEAL versus the FAKES! Ready?

First off, you must know that True Religion jeans are very, VERY expensive. There are the regular stitched True Religion jeans, the BIG T stitched (with thicker stitching), and the SUPER T stitched (with super thick stitching). The Super T's are the most expensive, around 9 per pair. Your first clue to whether or not the jeans you want are safe to buy is: PRICE. If they are too cheap, then chances are they are FAKE. However, this is not always the case. I have seen countless fakes being sold at very high prices. So look out! Pay attention to details!!

Religion

Details such as the stitching, shape of the horseshoes, inner pattern on the pockets, rivets, placement of the back logo patch, inseam length, material, inner tags, and even the belt loops are all ways to tell the difference between a REAL pair and a FAKE pair. I will cover each one of these for you.

Authentic True Religion Jeans! How To Know The Difference Between The Real Deal And Fakes!

1. Stitching: Real True Religion jeans have stitching throughout the jeans that is comparable to regular thread. It is very clean, even, and without flaws, such as running out of the lines or being stitched on top of. It is very professionally done, and doesn't look like a two year old tried to sew them. Fake pairs tend have have stitching that looks more like yarn, and gets fuzzy looking. It is often sloppy, with a lot of mistakes.

2. Horseshoe shape: The back horseshoes on the pockets should be evenly places inside of the back pockets. This is a huge clue, as MANY and MOST fakes cannot get this right. Authentic True Religion jeans have horseshoes that are centered evenly from the top to bottom, and left to right. They are not narrow in shape.

3. Inner pockets: True Religion jeans have small red Buddhas on the inner pocket lining. They are small, evenly spaced, and red. FAKE pairs have larger Buddhas are often very faded (or barely there), maroon in color, and the pocket material looks tan, not white. The pocket material should be white, with smaller red buddhas.

4. Rivets: The rivets near the front coin pockets are made out of a metal-like material. They are never plastic, which is commonly seen on fakes.

5. Placement of back True Religion logo patch: The back patch on authentic True Religion jeans is on the right hand side, all the way over to the right. It is commonly seen on fakes that the patch is more centered in the middle of the right hand side, which is a dead giveaway. Also, one must take note that the way the stitching around this label is done is VERY important. The back label should have red, EVEN stitching that is VERY neatly done around the entire patch. Fakes have stitching that is all over the place, and is over over-stitched in certain areas, or looks like the patch is about the fall off. Please note that many authentic True Religion patches are brown leather, as well as the red and white.

6. Inseam length: If you are buying a pair of brand new true Religion jeans, you are going to have a VERY long inseam length to start with. The inseam is usually at least 33" long, and can be as long as 36" on some pairs. If your pair is brand new, and the inseam is only 32" or less, then be aware that these may be fakes. Some older styles of True Religion jeans did actually have a shorter inseam around 32", but it is not very common anynore. Most fakes have s shorter inseam of about 32" or 32.5". Please also note that if you are buying a preowned/ used pair, the first owner may have had them hemmed, so please ask them before assuming they are fakes if they have a shorter inseam.

7. Material: The two most commonly used fabric types in True Religion jeans are 100% cotton (also known as RIGID) or 99% cotton 1% elastin (stretch). True Religion NEVER EVER uses Polyurethane in their blends, so if you see it, keep going- they are fake!

8. Inner tags: There are three inner tags, the one on top has a red Buddha that states the size, and says MADE IN USA. (The jeans are NEVER made in China!) On ther reverse of this tag is the material content, care instructions, RN and CA#'s on top. Then there is a cloth tag, that is smaller in side with a red horseshoe and strip across the bottom. On the reverse side of this tag is a serial code. Then last a paper tag underneath with style numbers (newer pairs even have the style name), PO numbers, CA, and RN numbers. Note that often times, the FAKE tags are slippery feeling, or waxy. They are often a brown tone as well, and are not white as they should be.

9. Belt loops: Fake True Religion jeans have VERY slanted side belt loops, almost crooked looking, like they are going sideways. They should NOT look like this!

~ So there you have it! I hope this guide has been somewhat helpful to you in your journey for a TRUE pair of TRUE RELIGION jeans! Good luck!!

All Roads Lead to Home

There are many Paths that will allegedly lead one to Nirvana, haven, or Enlightenment. These alternate paths often look very different.

I am sixty-one years old and have been searching for the right path for thirty years now. The first thirty years I'm not sure just what I was searching for. Without those first thirty years, however, I would probably be in a much different place than I am today.

Religion

One day perhaps I'll write a book about that first thirty years. Right now I am much more interested in writing about this last thirty. I have studied Christianity, Judaism, Scientology, Eckankar, Islam, Hinduism, Avatar, The Transformation Method, The Sedona Method, and countless other paths for getting back to my source.

All Roads Lead to Home

Every one of these roots toward Enlightenment has merit. If you want to get from the East coast of the United States to the west coast there are many ways that will get you there.

There are at least three major freeways that go most of the way across country. The US highway system combined with State, County, and Local roads will get you there. I have no Idea how many Airlines make the cross-country trip. There are even Railroad passages still available.

No one-way is the ONLY WAY each is just ANOTHER WAY. The same holds true with all of the different pathways to Enlightenment. In my opinion no one way is the ONLY WAY, just ANOTHER WAY.

Please understand, of all of the methods mentioned to get cross-country every one mentioned will get you there if you plan your trip carefully and pay ATTENTION as you proceed. Any one of them will fail to get you where you want to go as well if you are careless. It is possible to take a wrong turn anywhere along the way whether you are going across the US or reestablishing a relationship with your creator. It might not be so much a wrong turn as just a lack of ATTENTION to what you are doing.

The point is none of those ways are the ONLY WAY to GOD. Each is just ANOtHER WAY. No little Chinese boy was ever denied his way home to his Creator just because he was not properly exposed to the correct religion. As we pursue our chosen path we begin to discover clues along the way, Truth, Love, Fairness, Compassion things that Lao-tzu, Mohamed, Buddha, or Jesus Christ, might have suggested. It is not that hard to know if you are headed in the right direction.

I believe that the more information you are given the better prepared you will ultimately be to choose the path for you. In my writing I try to present a diversified enough selection for my readers to make there own choice. It is not that I have the knowledge on every way of proceeding back home. If there is a religion or particular path that you have been reared in, one that you feel serves your goals better, by all means follow your heart. If you are a reasonably normal human being you will know if your choice is going to get you closer to your source.

The bottom line is no matter what path you take be somewhat careful to stay on it and pay ATTENTION to what you are doing.

You can always tell if that feeling you have inside is steering you in the right direction. Our Ego some times has a tendency to try and take us down the wrong path. That Awareness that is really you will never fail you though. The way to be sure that it is your Awareness that you are going to follow as opposed to your Ego is this.

Your Awareness will always let you make the decision. It will never argue to be right. Your Awareness is that little bit of GOD within you. Your Ego has long since made up its mind that it is never wrong and will fight to convince you of the same. God doesn't try to make your decisions for you. She always lets you decide. Which accounts for a lot of mistake made by many people in their lives. But then that's why we are here to begin with, to LEARN.

Namaste

What Makes a Good Role Model? 7 Characteristics that Make a Real Impact

Role Models are people who others imitate, emulate or look to for guidance. There are good role models who inspire greatness in others and bad role models who are what we call "bad influences." There are even anti-role models, pegged by the media as "bad girls" or "bad boys" who serve as good examples of what NOT to do if you want to become a successful, respected person.

Every parent wants their children to have positive role models who have the characteristics that inspire them to want to be (and become) their very best. While there is some variation in every parent's definition of what it means to be a good person, the following 7 characteristics remain constant.

Religion

Positive role models;

What Makes a Good Role Model? 7 Characteristics that Make a Real Impact

(1) Model positive choice-making: Little eyes are watching and little ears are listening. When it comes to being a role model, you must be aware that the choices you make don't only impact you but also the children who regard you as their superhero. Someday, they will be in the same predicament and think to themselves, "What did s/he do when s/he was in the same situation?" As a role model, you can't just "talk the talk" and tell others to make good choices. You must put them into action yourself.

(2) Think out loud: When you have a tough choice to make, allow the children to see how you work through the problem, weigh the pros and cons, and come to a decision. The process of making a good decision is a skill. A good role model will not only show a child which decision is best, but also how they came to that conclusion. That way, the child will be able to follow that reasoning when they are in a similar situation.

(3) Apologize and admit mistakes: Nobody's perfect. When you make a bad choice, let those who are watching and learning from you know that you made a mistake and how you plan to correct it. This will help them to understand that (a) everyone makes mistakes; (b) it's not the end of the world; (c) you can make it right; and (d) you need to take care of it and be accountable right away. By apologizing, admitting your mistake, and repairing the damage, you will be demonstrating an important yet often overlooked part of being a role model.

(4) Follow through: We all want children to stick with their commitments and follow through with their promises. But as adults it can sometimes be difficult to demonstrate follow through when we're tired, distracted, busy, or overwhelmed. To be a good role model, we must demonstrate stick-to-itiveness. That means; (a) be on time; (b) finish what you started; (c) don't quit; (d) keep your word; and (e) keep going even if things get difficult. When role models follow through with their goals, it teaches children that it can be done and helps them adopt an "if s/he can do it, so can I" attitude.

(5) Show respect: You may be driven, successful, and smart but whether you choose to show respect or not speaks volumes about the type of attitude it takes to make it in life. We always tell children to "treat others the way we want to be treated" and yet, may not subscribe to that axiom ourselves. Do you step on others to get ahead? Do you take people for granted? Do you show gratitude for others? It's often the little things you do that make the biggest difference in the way children perceive how to succeed in business and relationships.

(6) Be well rounded: While we don't want to spread ourselves too thin, it's important to show children that we can be more than just one thing. Great role models aren't just "parents" or "teachers." They're great learners and challenge themselves to get out of their comfort zones. You may be a father who's also a student of the martial arts, a great chef and a treasured friend. You may be a mother who's a gifted dancer and a curious photographer. When children see that their role models can be many things, they will learn that they don't need to pigeon-hole themselves in order to be successful.

(7) Demonstrate confidence in who you are: Whatever you choose to do with your life, be proud of the person you've become. It may have been a long road, but it's the responsibility of a role model to commemorate the lessons learned, the strength amassed, and the character developed. It's true; we can always improve, however, children need to see that their role models don't suspend their confidence until they achieve "one more win" or "lose 5 more pounds." We must continue to strive while being happy with how far we've come at the same time.

While it may seem like a great deal of pressure to be a positive role model; nobody is expecting you to be superhuman. We certainly wouldn't expect that behavior from the children who are looking to us for guidance

Demon Spirits of the Bible

Jesus taught His disciples how to cast out devils. Today we create denominations and fear dealing with devils. Yet many are possessed and grossly influenced by demons. Learn what demon spirits are out there circulating throughout the earth to destroy humanity.

I know prior to receiving Jesus Christ as my personal Savior I struggled with several gross sins and felt compelled beyond my ability to resist. Now knowing what I do, I feel that demon spirits were on assignment against me to both assault and destroy my life (John 10:10). As any alcoholic, drug addict, or sex addict can tell you, such compulsions can be overwhelming and difficult to resist in one's own strength. Thanks be to God for His Holy Spirit that empowers us against all demonic spirits. (Matt.12:28)

Religion

Here are the various evil spirits mentioned in the Bible.

Demon Spirits of the Bible

1.familiar spirit (Leviticus 20:27; 1Samuel 28:7)

2.spirit of jealousy (Numbers 5:14,30)

3.evil spirit (Judges 9:23; 1Samuel 16:14)

4.sorrowful spirit (1Samuel 1:15)

5.lying spirit (1Kings 22:22-23)

6.haughty (prideful) spirit (Proverbs 16:18)

7.perverse spirit (Isaiah 19:14)

8.spirit of deep sleep (Isaiah 29:10)

9.spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:1)

10.spirit of whoredom (Hosea 4:12; 5:4)

11.unclean spirit (Zechariah 13:2)

12.deaf and dumb spirit (Mark 9:17,25)

13.spirit of infirmity (Luke 13:11)

14.spirit of divination (Acts 16:16)

15.spirit of bondage (Romans 8:15)

16.spirit of slumber (Romans 11:8)

17.spirit of fear (2Timothy 1:7)

18.spirit of lust (James 4:5)

19.spirit of antichrist (1John 4:3)

20.spirit of error (1John 4:6)

21.seducing spirit (1Timothy 4:1)

22.spirit of Egypt [also known as the spirit of the world] - (Isaiah 19:3; 1John 2:15-16)

23.spirit of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2)

These various spirits may be named differently according to whatever Bible translation used. I have named them as mentioned within the King James Version of the Bible.

We must never forget that we are in a spiritual war and need to wrestle against the forces of evil (Revelation 12:7; Ephesians 6:12; 2Corinthians 10:3-6). We cannot overlook or be ignorant of Satan's strategies and devices by which he assaults and seeks to destroy our lives (2Corinthians 2:11; 2Timothy 2:24-26)
